Clearing the Prairie
Although we often associate tree planting with Earth Day, this Earth Days event is focused on removing young trees from the Spirit Mound prairie. Prairies are a type of grassland, and in order to remain as grassland, the trees must be removed. During this Earth Days event, we will be helping with one of the ongoing management activities at Spirit Mound: cutting down young trees.
The clippers and loppers will be provided, but you are also welcome to bring your own supplies.
Free rides! Sign up for a bus leaving from and returning to City Hall parking lot. Send in the completed form to vpt@sesdac.org or call 624-RIDE if you would like a ride.
